2015 Richardson Charity Golf Classic
This year’s Richardson Charity Golf Classic took place on Thursday, August 20 at the Lethbridge Country Club in Lethbridge, Alberta. There was also a wine and cheese reception on Wednesday, August 19 at the Galt Museum, where we kicked off the event and recognized our long-time tournament sponsors.
2015 marked the 25th year of the Richardson Charity Golf Classic, and we raised $67,170 thanks to the support of our sponsors and golfers. We selected four organizations to receive the proceeds from this year’s tournament. The recipients were:
- The Friends of Coalhurst Elementary School Society (FCESS) - A non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and supporting lives of children, parents and educators.
- The Lethbridge Military Unit Senate Association - The association helps to promote collection, preservation and research of military artifacts that are of historical significance to Lethbridge.
- Woods Homes - An emergency youth shelter that provides coordinated participant-centered outreach and follow-up services for homeless youth up to the age of 24 living with complex needs.
- The Lethbridge Soup Kitchen - The kitchen, with the help of volunteers, prepares hot lunches six days a week to an average of 76 guests each day.
This year’s special guests included Lisa “Long Ball” Vlooswyk, seven-time Canadian women’s long drive champion, who spoke at the wine and cheese reception and participated in the golf tournament.
Brian Stollery, one of Western Canada’s most sought-after corporate comedians, provided after-dinner entertainment at the golf tournament.
