Connected Globally

Richardson's grain merchants are experts in matching Canadian-grown crops with the needs of end-use customers around the world. Well connected and knowledgeable, the merchandising team sources high-quality grains and oilseeds, assures reliable global delivery and values long-term customer relationships. The team has a wide range of expertise that includes knowledge in ocean freight, foreign exchange, risk management, international business practice, as well as the value of fostering long-term customer relationships.

Our merchandising and marketing teams collaborate with the company’s grain handling and food processing network to generate sales of Canadian-sourced grains, oilseeds and wholesale and retail food products to domestic and international markets. We constantly analyze production and consumption trends while developing relationships with end-use customers in major export centres so that Richardson can continue to provide an influential global presence for Canadian producers.

Logistics, the strategic and timely collection and delivery of commodities by rail, truck and vessel freight, is a key component in the successful execution of Richardson’s merchandising and marketing programs. Richardson’s grain facilities are strategically located near primary export corridors, allowing the company to export grain through Eastern and Western Canada, north through the Port of Churchill and south into the United States and Mexico.
