#RichardsonIs is a new campaign that we are launching to introduce you to some of the great people who work for our company.

This week, #RichardsonIs…Sam, electrician at our port terminal in Sorel, QC. Sam joined Richardson two years ago, directly out of college and upon completing an impressive three-week internship with Richardson.

Sam’s job within the maintenance department is to ensure every electrical component of the facility, such as lights and motors, are properly wired and functioning as they should. What Sam loves best about the work he does, is the feeling he gets starting new projects, like when he got to be part of the team responsible for the entire electrical plan and installation of a new crane at the terminal’s Marine 1 tower.

Recently, Sam was invited to take part in Richardson’s Instagram Takeover campaign, where he was able to share through photography what a day in the life of a Sorel employee looks like.

“I really enjoyed having the chance to show this side of our business. I had friends telling me that it’s so nice to see what the inside of the facility actually looks like and because the terminal is located in downtown Sorel, people are always curious about what takes place here.”

This fall, Sam will be pursuing further education on a part-time basis in the area of Industrial Automation as he aspires to broaden his electrical expertise, inspired by his colleague and mentor, Marcel, who is the head electrician at Sorel.

All the best with your studies, Sam!
