The New Crop Mission is a joint initiative by Canadian International Grains Institute (CIGI) and Cereals Canada, intended to promote the new wheat crop that has just been harvested to buyers and users of Canadian wheat and durum around the world.

The sessions include presentations from grain producers, exporters, the Canadian Grain Commission and CIGI.

Jean-Marc Ruest, Senior Vice-President, Corporate Affairs for Richardson International attended the Latin America mission as a representative for Cereals Canada (he is the Vice-Chair of Cereals Canada) as well as acting as moderator for the sessions. The mission included sessions in Mexico City (Mexico), Bogota (Colombia), Guayaquil (Ecuador), Santiago (Chile) and Lima (Peru).

Also representing Richardson International was John Peterson, Assistant Vice-President, Grain Merchandising, who was the exporter representative on the Asia mission.

Other New Crop Missions are currently being held in Europe/North Africa and Asia.
