Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2015, the Richardson Charity Golf Classic has raised over $1.8 million for local charities and organizations in the Lethbridge and the surrounding communities. The annual tournament takes place at the Lethbridge Golf and Country Club on Thursday, August 20 and features special guest Lisa “Long Ball” Vlooswyk, seven-time Canadian women’s long-drive champion.

The Richardson Charity Golf Classic is an invitational tournament that brings together Richardson’s suppliers and partners from across North America to raise funds for charities and organizations in southern Alberta.

“Richardson has a long legacy of supporting the communities in which we live and work across Canada,” says Pat Van Osch, Senior Vice-President, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing. “As one of the largest employers in Lethbridge, the Richardson Charity Golf Classic is our flagship event and an important way for Richardson Oilseed to give back to the community that supports our business and our people.”

Since its inception in 1991, the Richardson Charity Golf Classic has supported 65 charities and organizations that service southern Alberta. This year’s charity recipients include The Friends of the Coalhurst Elementary School Society, the Lethbridge Military Unit Senate Association, Woods Homes and the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen.

Over the last 25 years, 489 different sponsors and 1,100 golfers have made the Richardson Charity Golf Classic a resounding success and a community tradition.

“The Richardson Charity Golf Classic has been a success thanks to the outstanding support and continued generosity of our many sponsors and golfers,” says Van Osch. “At Richardson, we are truly invested in the community and we are very proud to do our part to help build stronger communities for the future.”
