#RichardsonIs is a new campaign that we are launching to introduce you to some of the great people who work for our company.

This week, #RichardsonIs Jana…Sales Manager for our oat milling business.

Jana, at our Lenexa, Kansas office.

Based in Lenexa, Kansas, Jana joined Richardson in 2013 with the acquisition of our oat milling business. As Sales Manager, Jana’s primary role is to sell oats and granola to food manufacturers. Jana’s work includes negotiating pricing, managing customer relationships, and helping to find solutions to some of the challenges our customers are facing.

“While the oat products in the grocery store don’t have the Richardson logo, it’s exciting to know that our ingredients can be found in a large variety of those  products.”

“As a farm kid from Northeast Kansas, agriculture has always been a big part of my life. A career in ag is so rewarding and it’s fun to work with others that are passionate about making a difference.”

Jana’s passion for oats isn’t limited to her career- her family enjoys making oatmeal cookies together. Here is their favourite cookie recipe for you to try!

1 cup margarine or butter, softened

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

3 cups quick or old fashioned oats

1 cup raisins

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Add combined flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon, mix well. Stir in oats and raisins, mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
