#RichardsonIs introduces you to some of the great people who work for our company and showcases the diversity of career options in agriculture.

This week, #RichardsonIs…Chianne, Director of Operations at our Richardson Pioneer Ag Business Centre in Maple Creek, SK.

Chianne with her family, taken on their property in June 2017.

Her Role: As Director of Operations, Chianne’s role touches many aspects of the day-to-day business of running one of our ag business centres. She’s responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, managing sales of both the crop inputs business and grain purchases, balancing the operations’ cost and repairs budget, fostering relationships with our grower customers and, perhaps most importantly,  helping to grow and support the staff.

Favourite Part of the Job: “I love this business! Every day I get to learn something new. Our customers are like family to us and they trust us with their livelihood. I take great pride in being part of their support team. I’m driven by knowing that we as a business are only successful if our growers are, too.”

Why Chianne Recommends a Career in Ag: “This industry is just getting started and our business, much like agriculture, is forever changing. When you choose a career in agriculture, you’re not just choosing a career, but choosing a lifestyle that is exciting. Ag hasn’t reached its peak- it’s just getting started and being a part of the journey is so rewarding.”

Out of Office: Chianne and her husband not only work full-time, they also run cattle on their ranch, so she understands on a very personal level the commitment it takes to be a farmer. Family time with their three kids is very important to them, especially with their busy lives.
